The Business Analyst is responsible for information gathering and documentation for website, mobile app, and retail channel enhancements and maintenance. One of the key contacts for The Home Depot website–related development and integration work with internal and external teams, the individual will work closely with end users, business units, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities to utilize web-based technologies.
In addition, the individual will look to improve business processes and support critical business strategies with the strategic guidance of the Ecommerce Product Management Team. The Business Analyst will work closely with project teams and support various stages of the development life cycle.
Tasks assigned to this role require an in-depth and broader understanding of problem identification, analysis, and resolution. The individual must have experience working with various teams within the product development process (UX, Research, IT, third-party partners) to drive business objectives forward.
Defines and documents customer business functions and processes. Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
Consults with internal and external teams to identify, define, and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access.
Acts as a liaison between departmental end users, technical analysts, information technology analysts, consultants, and other third-party vendors in the analysis, design, configuration, testing, and maintenance of projects to ensure optimal performance.
Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of users. Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed, universally understood procedures for end users and for use in training.
Collects and prepares information and reports using analytics, industry and competitive research, and trends. Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in Product Management decision-making.
Participates in test case definition, user acceptance testing, and testing of new system functionality. Develops training curriculum and conducts formal training sessions covering assigned system modules.

Strong documentation and communication skills required (Business Requirements Documents, use case development, business process diagramming, facilitating information-gathering sessions)
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, operate under pressure, and meet deadlines
Excellent skills with MS Office, MS Project, and Visio or other web-based diagramming software

5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst in product, project, or change management
