Business Analyst

As a member of the Information Technology team, the Business Analyst is responsible for the development and on-going support of assigned products and areas of responsibility.  The Business Analyst will be responsible for liaising between technical and business teams, leading requirements gathering and analysis, driving project strategy, contributing analytics to development efforts, and supporting a wide variety of tasks. 

Additionally, preferred candidates should have an experience in UI wire-framing, knowledge of the basic concepts of the product development lifecycle, knowledge of information architecture concepts, experience in business strategy and implementation, a general understanding of databases, and experience working with teams in complex technical environments. 

Qualified candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with consumers, third parties, and members at all levels of the organization including executive management. 

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research as required and provide recommendations based on findings.
• Evaluate new work requests, gather requirements, and draft workplans.
• Gather business, technical and stakeholder requirements for projects and map them to best practices and consumer needs to create successful products and initiatives.
• Translate user requirements into business requirements, functional specifications, and data application.
• Provide problem resolution for new development initiatives as well as ongoing platform maintenance.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to drive cost saving and/or revenue enhancing initiatives within the company.
• Create documentation to support projects and other areas of responsibility.
• Assist in the development of other business and technology documents including business cases, product reviews and strategies, market analysis, system reviews and more.
• Proactively communicate project updates, issues, and other status items to appropriate organizational level.
• Create wireframes to illustrate UI enhancements as well as new UI areas.

Education:

Four year degree preferably in Mathematics, Engineering, Marketing, Business, Computer Science or related field is required. 

Work Experience:

At least two years in a Business Analyst or related role. Candidates with experience in eCommerce or the banking/financial services industry are preferred.

Other Knowledge:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Proficiency in UML, HTML, SQL, Visio, Photoshop is preferred.
