We are seeking an enthusiastic Distinguished Software Engineer for Walmart’s Runtime Platform organization focusing on configuration and secrets management, streaming platforms, and A/B testing. This position will be responsible for leading, communicating, tracking, and mentoring the engineering teams to successfully implement those visions. This position will report to our Senior Director of Engineering and will work closely with principal and staff engineers across different products. We are a close-knit team, focusing on challenging problems that make a difference across all of Walmart. There will also be minimal travel associated with this role (twice a year). We concentrate on high-impact, high-value development, and in this role, you’ll be delivering the software that plays a pivotal role in managing Walmart’s Runtime Platform for all the stores and eCommerce businesses. We pride ourselves on working in a collaborative environment, and to do so this position will be in our Bengaluru Development Center.

About the role:
• Leadership: Hands on in building, leading, and mentoring high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Technology Expert: Deeply understand the technology at play. In depth knowledge of Experimentation and run time configuration management space like feature flags, targeted releases, kill switches, etc. Strong knowledge of different secrets offering like Akeyless, Hashi, and other industry vault solutions.
• Collaboration: Foster effective communication and collaboration across teams and stakeholders. Act as a liaison between the engineering team and other business functions to align priorities, address challenges, and manage risks.
• Drive: Drive improvements to development practices, including planning, architecture, documentation, and testing.
• Product Ownership: Own design, development, and delivery of core experimentation, secrets, and configuration management module and features in partnership with product managers and business partners.
By 3 Months…
You will have Established relationships with direct reports, key individual contributors, and peers. You will have a Solid understanding of the existing core OS and adjacent components, and you will be actively driving planning for upcoming projects.
By 6 to 12 months…
You will have grown team by 10 to 15%, established infrastructure and guidelines for integration tests between components, and organized execution of projects.
What you'll bring:
• Strong experience in Experimentation space and industry knowledge of different products in this area like Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, etc.
• Experience in with secret management solutions
• Experience in configuration management solution will be a plus
• Experience developing with constrained environments
• Visionary and well respected in SW engineering discipline
• 3 to 5 years of experience as Principal Engineer or Architect
• You have integrity, humility, and are a self-starter
• You are able to balance competing pressure
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science

Bentonville, Arkansas US-09050:The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00
