About the team and the role:

eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 1, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

What you will accomplish:

Job Duties: Design, build, refactor and release software written in Python and Bash. Design and implement monitoring systems to guarantee 99.999% service availability. Support the platform and services that provide machine learning (ML) infrastructure to researchers and data scientists across eBay. Diagnose and solve production issues with engineering teams, researchers, and data scientists, including performance and functional issues. Develop and follow operational standard processes for tools and automation development, including style guides, versioning practices, source control, branching, merging patterns, and advising other engineers on development standards. Research and apply the latest technological developments, drive implementation of DevOps practices across the organization, and provide customer support. Act as a member of eBay's Al platform team, supporting the next generation of scalable Al development tools for various research and engineering teams within the organization. Participate in training customers and prepare reports on customer issues. Telecommuting permitted – work may be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

What you will bring:

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus four years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1.    Experience working within the Linux Operating System Environment (Redhat, Ubuntu) [2 years]
2.    Expert on scripting languages (Bash & Python) [2 years]
3.    Data Pipeline creation and monitoring on cloud envrionments [2 years]
4.    Kubernetes expert [2 years]
5.    SQL Expert, on multiple database systems [2 years]
6.    Global cluster deployment tools [2 years]
7.    Global cluster monitoring tools [2 years]

Salary: $158,735.00-222,100.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
