About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive SEO Specialist with a strong foundation in content-driven SEO. This role is ideal for someone with 1–3 years of experience who excels in keyword research, content briefing, on-page optimization, and is curious about the evolving impact of AI-driven search.
You will collaborate with an SEO Strategist, content writers, and cross-functional marketing teams to develop and optimize high-performing website content. The role includes exposure to technical SEO fundamentals and performance analytics. This position requires working on-site in Mississauga 3 days per week as part of a hybrid schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct keyword research to identify high-impact content opportunities tied to search intent.
- Create structured SEO content briefs that include metadata recommendations, H1/H2 structure, internal linking, and FAQ opportunities.
- Optimize existing website pages (landing pages, buying guides, product/category pages) to improve rankings, CTR, and user engagement.
- Monitor SERP trends, including AI search results, to identify new ranking opportunities and shifts in user behavior.
- Support ongoing reporting and performance analysis (traffic, rankings, engagement metrics).
- Assist with light technical SEO tasks such as metadata updates, schema markup, redirects, and QA.
- Conduct competitor content analysis to benchmark content depth, structure, and differentiation.
- Work collaboratively with writers, designers, and marketing partners to ensure SEO best practices are consistently implemented.
Qualifications
Required:
- 1–3 years of experience in SEO, content strategy, or digital marketing (agency or in-house).
- Strong understanding of on-page SEO fundamentals and search-intent analysis.
- Experience developing content briefs or structured content guidance for writers.
- Working proficiency with SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Keyword Planner).
- Familiarity with Google Search Console and analytics dashboards.
- Clear written communication and strong attention to detail.
Preferred:
- eCommerce SEO experience, including optimization of product or category pages.
- Practical SEM (paid search) experience such as assisting in Google Ads/Bing campaigns, supporting keyword alignment, reviewing performance insights, or collaborating with paid media teams.
- Familiarity with AI Search environments (Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, ChatGPT search summaries).
- Experience working within CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, or Shopify.
- Basic understanding of structured data, canonical tags, sitemaps, or indexation.
- Experience with bilingual/localization workflows (English/French) is a plus, but not required.
