About the Role

Klay Media is an agency with a forward vision, focused on building and scaling our owned and operated brands. One of our fastest-growing businesses is 1800D2C, the go-to destination for eCommerce and DTC founders, operators, and marketing leaders.

We’re looking for a Social Media & Community Manager to be the voice of 1800D2C across channels, grow our social presence, and deepen engagement with our fast-growing community of founders and operators. This role blends content creation, storytelling, and community building — helping us expand our reach and strengthen relationships with the DTC ecosystem.

You’ll own 1800D2C’s day-to-day presence on social platforms and manage community initiatives that connect and engage our audience. From LinkedIn and TikTok to events and chat groups, you’ll lead the creation of content, foster conversation, and ensure our brand feels alive, approachable, and authoritative.

Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Develop and execute the social media strategy across LinkedIn, TikTok, X, Instagram, etc.
  • Plan and publish engaging content (short-form video/UGC, graphics, posts, threads, stories).
  • Collaborate with our content and growth teams to amplify newsletter features, tools of the week, and brand highlights.
  • Track performance metrics (engagement, reach, follower growth) and continuously optimize.
  • Build and expand our influencer program, from identifying and vetting talent to negotiating partnerships and measuring ROI.
  • Build and maintain content calendars to keep our social presence consistent.

Community Management

  • Build and manage online communities (Slack, Discord, LinkedIn Groups, etc.) where DTC leaders can connect and share insights.
  • Moderate discussions, surface relevant conversations, and highlight industry news.
  • Organize digital and IRL community events (AMA’s, roundtables, meetups).
  • Act as a bridge between the community and internal teams — sharing feedback, insights, and opportunities.

Brand Engagement

  • Act as the day-to-day voice of 1800D2C with personality, speed, and professionalism.
  • Engage with DTC founders, operators, agencies, and SaaS tools across social platforms.
  • Spot and jump on trends, memes, and conversations that align with our brand.
  • Partner with sponsors and collaborators to co-create content that feels authentic.


Qualifications

  • 2–4 years experience in social media, content, or community management (media, SaaS, or eComm preferred).
  • Strong creator instincts — you know how to craft posts, short-form videos, and community prompts that get engagement.
  • Plugged into eCommerce/DTC trends and passionate about the industry.
  • Basic content creation skills (short-form video editing, Canva/Adobe, etc.).
  • Creative, witty, and comfortable experimenting with new formats.
  • Bonus: Experience growing or managing professional communities (Slack/Discord groups, LinkedIn groups, etc.).


What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent, high-quality content across all core channels.
  • Social audience grows 3–5x with meaningful engagement from DTC operators.
  • Active community hub launched and growing with measurable participation.
  • 1800D2C is recognized as the most engaging and credible voice in the DTC/eComm space on social.


Compensation

The starting pay for this position will fall within the posted range. Final compensation is influenced by factors such as your skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market trends. Base salaries are aligned to where employees work, and ranges may change over time.

Base Salary Range: $70,000+ USD
