Job summary

DigiCert is seeking a visionary and hands-on Software Architect to define and build the next generation of secure and trustworthy AI systems. In this role, you will drive innovation at the intersection of AI, identity, and digital trust, shaping how organizations establish confidence in autonomous and intelligent systems. 

You’ll lead the ideation, design and prototyping of new architectures that extend DigiCert’s trusted capabilities — from software supply chain integrity and document authenticity to emerging Agentic AI enterprise use cases— ensuring that digital interactions remain verifiable, secure, and accountable in an AI-powered world. 

This position blends strategic architecture, hands-on experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration. You will help shape DigiCert’s vision for AI Security and Trust, driving the evolution of the DigiCert Trust Platform to meet the challenges of an AI-powered world. You will bring a strong builder mindset — able to move fluidly between strategic architecture and hands-on prototyping.and a proven track record in building reliable, scalable and highly available SaaS solutions. 

 

What you will do

Innovation and Prototyping 

  • Rapidly design and deliver proofs of concept exploring new approaches to AI security and trust. 
  • Experiment with emerging technologies in Agentic AImodel provenance, and data integrity. 
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate exploration and technical validation. 
  • Drive Innovation Culture: Champion experimentation, ideation, and rapid validation of new concepts that push the boundaries of how DigiCert defines and delivers digital trust.  

Architectural Leadership 

  • Design scalable, secure architectures that integrate trust principles into AI/ML pipelines, Agentic workflows, and digital ecosystems. 
  • Define system blueprints and architectural standards for next-gen SaaS and AI platforms. 
  • Explore Emerging Technologies: Stay at the forefront of AI safety, governance, model provenance, and data assurance—identifying opportunities for DigiCert to lead in securing AI systems and digital assets. 
  • Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and incident retrospectives. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with product, UX & research, and engineering leaders to align AI trust innovation across DigiCert’s portfolios. 
  • Communicate architectural vision clearly to technical and business stakeholders. 
  • Mentor teams on secure design, cloud-native principles, and AI security practices. 

 

What you will have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in cloud-native software backend development, with at least 3 years in a software architecture or technical leadership role. 
  • Experience designing distributed microservices with REST or GraphQL APIs 
  • Proficiency in Java, Go, Rust or Python, with strong knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture. 
  • Experience designing scalable, secure, and cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI). 
  • Expertise with CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions), TerraformDocker, and Kubernetes. 
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, agile development, and DevOps principles. 
  • Experience with both relational (PostGres, MySQL) and NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB) databases. 

Preferred

  • Familiarity with TLS, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), cryptography APIs, and trust frameworks. 
  • Experience securing AI pipelines, verifying model integrity, or establishing data provenance in AI workflows is a strong differentiator. 
  • Knowledge of secure software supply chaindata provenance, or model validation frameworks. 
  • Proficiency with tools such as Git, JIRA, VSCode, Cursor, or Visual Studio. 

 

Nice To Have

  • Experience with Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) such as GPT-4, LLaMA, or Claude. 
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, OpenAI APIs). 
  • Exposure to AI governance, risk, and compliance (AI GRC) or AI security threat modeling. 
  • Experience fine-tuning or deploying LLMs and integrating AI assistants or agentic systems. 
  • Understanding of data analytics, observability, and AI performance monitoring in production environments. 
  • Knowledge of DNSSEC, or DANE is desirable.

Salary range $200,000-$255,000 (actual salary offered to a candidate within this range will depend on a variety of factors including relative levels of experience and education, years in this or essentially similar role, market competition, etc.)
