As the Software Engineer II, you will be part of a high-performance engineering team of full-stack and quality assurance engineers. The App Growth & Strategy team is responsible for making our mobile app experience the best it can be, and to promote that app experience to our customers. This means we build app-exclusive functionality, and web based components to demonstrate the value of the app to our web users. In this role, you will create and enhance features within the Best Buy app and www.bestbuy.com website, using modern JavaScript frameworks along with appropriate test automation, performance, and tools supporting the architecture.

What you’ll do
- Advance in your career by learning and improving your own technical and non-technical abilities.
- Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and trade-offs.
- Understand the architecture around the core systems or processes they are responsible for.
- Triage complex issues independently in both production and locally.
- Require minimal direction and/or oversight.
- Plan and execute delivery of coarse-grained features/capabilities.
- Collaborate with team members across various disciplines to solve problems at the scale of one of the top 10 e-commerce websites
Basic qualifications
- 2+ years of software engineering experience with a bachelor's degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
- 2 or more years of combined agile, UX design and front-end engineering experience with modern JavaScript and testing frameworks
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in large cross-functional eCommerce systems
- Strong experience querying GraphQL
- Test-driven development (TDD) experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication
