Summary/Objective  

 The Technical Lead (TL) provides oversight to a team of Adobe Commerce back-end and front-end developers functioning as the most senior applications engineer across projects.  

The TL is a highly client-facing role and will be involved in estimation/scoping, performing code review and communicating with internal and external project stakeholders on both progress and roadblocks. The TL will be responsible for solutioning and detailing the technical approach for implementing those solutions.  

The role is hands-on and will require active software development with the full expectation that the candidate will be able to implement and debug complex areas of functionality. 

Essential Functions

Lead technical and solution-based discussions with the project team, client and client vendors. 

Map client requirements to gaps in the Adobe Commerce platform. Define the technical approach for implementing customizations needed to meet client requirements through detailed technical design documentation. 

Provide oversight and mentorship to project development team. 

Configure Adobe Commerce environment and deployment processes. 

Configure Adobe Commerce OOTB capabilities and workflows. 

Code and branch management using agreed upon workflows. 

Troubleshoot and debug complex technical issues. 

Implement complex customizations and integrations 


 

Requirements

Competencies 

Thorough functional and technical understanding of the Adobe Commerce platform 

Capable of providing technical design and leadership within the Adobe Commerce platform 

Deep expertise in core eCommerce functionalities and Adobe Commerce specific customization 

Full-stack web application development on the Adobe Commerce framework 

Understanding of the environments and systems under which Adobe Commerce operates (DEV-OPS capability) 

Ability to define and manage branching strategy and GIT workflows for both implementation and support projects. 

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills 

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail, and ability to multitask and meet deadlines

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience 

At least 7 years’ experience architecting and implementing eCommerce solutions preferably in a high-volume agency or solution integrator environment 

At least 5 years of experience with the Adobe Commerce platform 

Deep understanding of B2B Commerce concepts and solutions 

Understand and articulate eCommerce trends and best practices 

Experience with web development technologies and tools 

Experience with agile and scrum methodologies and tools 

Experience working with virtual teams 

Proven experience working remotely 

Experience with application performance monitoring tools like New Relic 

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience with Adobe Storefront 

Current Adobe Commerce certifications 

Experience with and Big Commerce certifications 

Experience with Oro Commerce 

Experience with and Shopify certifications
