Position Summary

The DevOps Engineer will support a portfolio of customer and associate-facing applications (e.g. Salesforce Commerce Cloud and OMS, Azure and on-premises hosted applications). This role requires a strong engineering mindset, a bias for automation, and the ability to scale reliable delivery across all platforms. This role will work cross functional with Security, Infrastructure and Development Engineers. The DevOps Engineer will oversee builds, deployments, and automated testing operations through automated pipelines.  The engineer maintains the pipelines, integrates new automated steps, and suggests improvements. This is an ideal role for someone who has built software as a developer, transitioned into DevOps, and enjoys enabling teams to deliver faster without compromising quality, security, or compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead DevOps strategy and execution across all customer and associate facing platforms.
  • CI/CD ownership & automation.
  • Build, maintain, and continuously optimize CI/CD pipelines using enterprise DevOps automation tools (e.g. GitHub, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket or similar).
  • Ensure code is automatically tested, built, and deployed efficiently across environments.
  • Drive pipeline standardization while supporting platform-specific needs.
  • Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Azure Resource Management (ARM), or similar.
  • Ensure environment consistency, reliability, and repeatability across releases.
  • Own branching strategies, pull request workflows, and merge processes.
  • Enforce best practices for code reviews, automated testing and release approvals.
  • Coordinate and orchestrate releases across multiple dependent systems.
  • Implement and manage monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or similar).
  • Monitor deployments, uptime, performance, and pipeline health.
  • Integrate automated security scanning, dependency checks, and policy controls into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ensure DevOps practices align with security standards and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Security, Risk and Compliance teams to balance speed with control.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in DevOps.
  • Experience building software – not just pipelines.
  • Ability to move fast while maintaining reliability and control.
  • Basic understanding of Salesforce Commerce Cloud (Demandware).
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD principles, automation strategies, and modern SDLC best practices.
  • Practical experience implementing these practices using developer platforms and tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies and orchestration frameworks within cloud-native architecture.
  • Expertise in infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code frameworks, with a focus on creating reusable templates and enforcing security and governance standards through automation.
  • Demonstrated success leading large-scale transformations with incremental value delivery.
  • Strong execution mindset, able to navigate ambiguity and deliver results.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical details to both technical and non-technical business stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of basic eCommerce concepts, such as catalog architecture, pricing, and inventory management strategies, payment processes, and technologies that support a successful eCommerce strategy such as PIM, OMS.
  • This role will be on-call to support a 24x7x365 environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • This role is based in our vibrant, collaborative office five days a week, with flexibility to accommodate family and life commitments when needed. Flexibility to work extended and varied hours as needed.
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time as the job is completed primarily at a desk each day. Variable desk heights are offered so alternatively sitting and/or standing at the desk is optional.

Travel:

  • Up to of 10% travel is required based on business needs.
