POSITION SUMMARY:

Lead the strategic planning, implementation, and management of Fielmann USA’s IT infrastructure to enable the delivery of world class vision care services and products. Drive operational excellence by optimizing infrastructure services, including networks, data centers, cloud environments, and the integration of advanced vision care technologies such as medical imaging devices, refractive equipment, and diagnostic tools. Foster innovation by implementing cutting edge solutions that enhance scalability, reliability, and security while supporting Fielmann USA’s mission to revolutionize the vision care industry through seamless patient experiences and operational excellence. Collaborate closely with Feilmann AG to align processes, ensure global consistency, and leverage synergies across the organization.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create IT strategic plans, architecture, and roadmaps, resulting in execution of the overall business plan

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Fielmann USA’s IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable and secure performance across retail stores, eCommerce platforms, and medical vision equipment

• Manage the integration and support of vision-related medical devices, including digital refraction systems, OCT scanners, and other diagnostic tools, into Fielmann USA’s IT ecosystem

• Partner with clinical teams to ensure infrastructure supports high quality patient care, including secure transmission of medical images, electronic health records, and other vision related data

• Develop and manage Fielmann USA’s infrastructure budget. Ensure alignment with strategic priorities to support retail growth and enhanced vision care delivery

• Ensure robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans, with a specific focus on safeguarding vision care equipment and clinical operations

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to integrate advanced technologies into patient care workflows and improve operational efficiency

• Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and relationships to deliver cost effective solutions for IT infrastructure and vision care equipment

• Establish and enforce infrastructure policies that align with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance and cybersecurity standards specific to medical devices and patient data

• Manage IT systems that support patient care, including secure data exchange with medical devices and electronic health records

• Support infrastructure needs for vision care equipment, including installation, maintenance, and integration into clinical workflows

• Operate and troubleshoot office and medical IT systems to ensure minimal disruption to patient care and retail operations

 

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required; master’s degree in healthcare IT, Business Administration, or information systems preferred.

• ITIL, PMP certification or equivalent certifications preferred

• Certifications or experience in medical device integration or healthcare IT (e.g., CPHIMS, CHDA) preferred

• 8+ years of experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, preferably with exposure to healthcare or vision care environments

• Demonstrated experience leading IT infrastructure transformations in industries involving medical equipment or patient facing technologies

• 5-8 years supervisory/management experience managing high performing teams

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to dynamic needs of fast growing operations in the vision care industry

• Deep understanding of integrating medical devices into IT infrastructure, particularly in a vision care setting

• Strong leadership and team building skills, with a focus on collaboration and accountability

• Expertise in cloud technologies, especially Azure and hybrid environments supporting clinical and retail operations

• Experience managing IT systems for regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, HITECH, and HITRUST

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, bridging technical and clinical teams

• Proven ability to innovate in environments requiring a blend of healthcare, retail, and eCommerce technology solutions

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of programs


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication

• Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time

• Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)

• Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds

• Able to view/read computer screen for extended periods of time

• Able to work normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines
