JOB SUMMARY
You'll own organic search strategy and execution across three ecommerce brands. This means traditional SEO — technical, content, and link building — plus the emerging discipline of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) for AI search platforms like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity. You'll report to the Director of Ecommerce and Digital Marketing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and execute SEO strategies for three distinct brands across BigCommerce and Optimizely platforms
•Conduct technical SEO audits and implement fixes (site speed, crawlability, schema, indexation) • Perform keyword research and build content strategies that capture demand at every funnel stage• Optimize product pages, category pages, and landing pages for search visibility and conversion• Build and manage link acquisition strategies (digital PR, outreach, partnerships)
•Monitor and optimize for AI-powered search (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT Browse, Perplexity, Bing Copilot)
•Implement structured data and entity optimization to improve brand presence in generative results• Track rankings, traffic, and conversions; deliver actionable reporting to leadership• Collaborate with content, product, and development teams to execute SEO initiatives
•Stay current on algorithm updates, AI search trends, and emerging best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in ecommerce B2B and B2C
• Proven track record improving organic traffic and revenue
• Strong technical SEO skills — comfortable with crawlers, log files, Core Web Vitals, and schema markup
• Experience with keyword research tools (Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, etc.)
• Understanding of GEO principles — how AI models source and surface information
• Content strategy experience — ability to plan and brief content that ranks
• Analytical mindset — comfortable in GA4, Search Console, and Excel/Sheets
• Self-starter who identifies opportunities without being asked
• Clear communicator who can explain SEO impact to non-technical stakeholders.
