Overview:
The Software Engineer owns the design, development, and implementation of assigned features and components within our enterprise eCommerce platform, delivering scalable, high-quality solutions that support a seamless and engaging user experience. This role collaborates closely with solutions architect, senior engineers and stakeholders to execute against established architectural standards, best practices, and delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
Knowledge Sharing & Team Engagement
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, providing peer mentorship and technical feedback.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team by contributing to coding standards, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
- Actively participate in change management practices in alignment with company policies.
Full-Stack Engineering & Website Development
- Design, develop, and modify company websites by owning assigned features and ensuring they meet functional, performance, and quality expectations.
- Participate in peer code reviews to validate code changes for quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
- Maintain and enhance website architecture by implementing solutions aligned with established architectural patterns.
- Implement responsive design principles to ensure the website functions seamlessly across various devices and browsers.
Content Management Systems
- Integrate and manage content using content management systems (CMS), Digital Asset Management (DAM), Product Information Management (PIM), etc.
- Collaborate with product owners, product managers, and content creators to ensure the website is updated with fresh, relevant content by providing reliable and intuitive tools that support efficient content updates.
User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Collaboration
- Collaborate effectively with designers to develop and integrate visually appealing and intuitive interfaces that enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback and contribute to iterative improvements in user experience.
Backend Development
- Develop server-side logic, manage database integrations, and ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front end.
- Implement security measures to protect user data and prevent breaches, following established practices in alignment with security and compliance standards.
SEO and Analytics
- In cooperation with the analytics team, optimize the website for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and traffic.
- In cooperation with the analytics team, implement and manage web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to support monitoring and analysis of website performance.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with IT, marketing, product, and other departments to translate business requirements into well-defined technical solutions.
- Provide technical support and knowledge sharing to internal stakeholders to support effective adoption of platform capabilities.
Maintenance and Updates
- Regularly update and maintain the website to ensure it remains current, stable, and functional.
- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues while identifying root causes and preventing recurrence.
Scaled Agile Methodology
- Participate in SAFe Agile practices and ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuous delivery and integration.
- Take ownership of sprint commitments and contribute to continuous improvement of team delivery practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, Software Engineering, ora related field.
- 2+ years of experience delivering production-grade software in a team-based environment.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including frameworks like jQuery, React, or Angular.
- Experience with back-end technologies such as PHP, Python, or Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of content management systems (CMS) like WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and web analytics tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with eCommerce platforms (such as Shopify) is preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Web Developer) are a plus.
- Experience with Agile or SAFe Agile methodologies is highly desirable.
