Senior Manager of Performance Marketing (Hands-On)
Location: Colorado (hybrid) or California (remote)
Reports to: VP of Marketing & Ecommerce
Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000
Performance Bonus: Eligible for a performance-based bonus tied directly to Gross MER and ROAS targets.
This is an in-house, end-to-end paid media ownership role. No agency support for execution.
Job Summary
Topo Designs is seeking a hands-on Senior Manager of Performance Marketing to own and optimize our paid media engine across core performance channels. This role blends daily in-platform execution with structured testing, creative partnership, and disciplined budget allocation to drive profitable growth.
Success is measured first by Gross MER, supported by ROAS, CAC, and new customer growth. You will partner closely with Ecommerce, Creative, and Social to ensure paid traffic aligns with onsite experience, brand storytelling, and community building.
Key Responsibilities
Paid Media Ownership & Execution
- Build, execute, and optimize campaigns across primary performance platforms
- Own budget allocation and pacing to hit Gross MER and ROAS targets
- Maintain clean account structure, naming conventions, and reporting hygiene
- Perform daily optimizations across bids, budgets, audiences, placements, feeds, and creative rotation
Structured Testing & Channel Optimization
- Lead disciplined A/B testing across audiences, creative, bidding strategies, and landing pages
- Maintain a clear testing roadmap and learning log
- Evaluate emerging channels through controlled pilots when aligned with business priorities
- Scale what works and cut what doesn’t with speed and clarity
Creative Strategy & Performance Feedback
- Own paid creative testing calendar and refresh cadence
- Translate performance data into actionable creative briefs
- Provide structured feedback to design and content teams grounded in results
- Ensure creative balances conversion efficiency with brand integrity
AI-Enabled Workflow
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate creative iteration, testing velocity, performance analysis, and workflow efficiency
- Apply AI pragmatically to improve output and speed of learning
- Stay current on evolving search and commerce surfaces that impact paid performance
Ecommerce & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner weekly with Ecommerce to align traffic with landing pages, merchandising, and promotions
- Translate paid media insights into clear CRO recommendations
- Collaborate with Social and Creative to ensure paid amplifies brand storytelling and community
Reporting & Communication
- Provide clear weekly performance summaries tied to Gross MER, ROAS, CAC, and new customer growth
- Highlight risks, opportunities, and next actions
- Maintain transparent budget pacing and efficiency tracking
Skills & Qualifications
- 4–7+ years hands-on performance marketing experience, ideally in DTC ecommerce
- Expert-level experience managing Google and Meta platforms
- Proven ability to manage and scale budgets while protecting profitability
- Strong testing discipline and analytical rigor
- Clear creative point of view grounded in performance data
- Comfortable operating without agency support
- Shopify experience required
Nice to Have
- Experience marketing apparel or outdoor lifestyle brands
- Experience building structured creative testing systems (brief templates, naming conventions, learning logs, and a repeatable testing calendar)
- Familiarity with TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads and Reddit Ads
- Experience building lightweight reporting dashboards
