About the Role
This winter, we’re offering a 16-week paid internship (starting January 2026) for a Web Development Intern. You’ll get real hands-on experience developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting websites while working alongside experienced developers.
Candidates must be located in Calgary and currently enrolled in post-secondary school.
Responsibilities:
- Build, customize, and maintain client websites using WordPress and Gutenberg.
- Support front-end development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
- Assist with back-end tasks including PHP, MySQL, and plugin implementation.
- Conduct QA, debugging, and troubleshooting of web projects.
- Implement on-page SEO best practices and monitor site performance.
- Collaborate with designers, content specialists, and marketing strategists.
- Learn and use Git/version control for project workflows.
- Participate in internal culture events—foosball tournaments, office games, and team lunches.
Candidate Profile
Experience / Skills:
- Familiarity with WordPress development (themes, plugins, CMS)
- Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL/MariaDB, WordPress plugin development
- Exposure to Git or other version control systems
- Understanding of responsive design and website performance optimization
- Nice-to-have: Elementor, Divi or Shopify development experience
- Portfolio of websites/projects is a plus

Internship Details & Perks
- Duration: 16-week paid internship starting January 2026
- Compensation: $20.00 per hour
- Grant Funding: Venture for Canada Eligibility: Must be a full-time student in a post-secondary program and a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold refugee status. International students are not eligible.
